Video: “Meet & Greet” of Nov 2022 celebrates 1st Anniversary of QCGC’s founding

Members of our genealogy club along with spouses/partners, hugely enjoyed their first official social gathering since the club was established. An attractive, professionally hosted *buffet station* filled with delicious appetizer and fruit temptations was a great success. With all of us so relatively new to the club after only one year, we wanted an opportunity to have some fun and get to know each other better. The late afternoon event was the first opportunity to personally introduce many of us to each other. Lively, and stimulating conversations ensued – many of them centered around tracing our families back thru the centuries, building family trees, and the exciting discoveries we made relating to formerly-unknown worldwide relatives. New friendships with fellow community residents emerged, based on many common interests, home state regions, and their life experiences well beyond genealogy.

NOTE — Set your device’s volume at moderately high-level initially; the footage starts with 3 minutes of event snapshot slides with pleasant music under, then flows – without music – to 9 minutes of activity and the sounds of busy party conversation. Less than ideal room acoustics, so to give a vivid sense of the typical animated conversations going on throughout the event, the Communications Committee cameraman sat himself at one of the tables with six newly-met QCGC members, and with the camera left running for the video’s final 5 minutes. The audio-ed words were thereby relatively distinct and informative.
